Contraception |
||||||||||
![]() Except for sterilisation which will require referral to agencies outside the practice, we are able to offer the full range of contraception to our female patients. If you phone the practice and explain that you need contraception, our reception team will ensure you are made an appropriate appointment which may be with your doctor or our specialist family planning nurse. If you need emergency contraception please do not delay coming to see us. Long acting reversible contraceptionThe Department of Health has asked us to make our our female patients aware of long acting reversible contraception methods (LARC) which include intrauterine devices, the intrauterine system, injectable contraceptives and implants. This is because they are more cost-effective and will reduce the number of unintended pregnancies. See NICE leaflet: Long-acting reversible contraception
