The telephone number for the switchboard will remain 752550 (area code: 01202) but , if you need help with a medical problem, we encourage you to bypass the switchboard by phoning a different number depending on the doctor with whom you are registered:

We ask that you give the member of staff answering your call some idea of your problem. This will allow us to discuss with you the urgency of the problem and which of the following options are best for you:

• Appointment with a doctor, nurse practitioner or a nurse
• Telephone consultation
• Home visit
• Staff to take a message
• Call an ambulance
• You may not need an appointment at all - some problems can be sorted by the reception team aided by computer guidelines created and supervised by the doctors
